    Hey fellas

    Thinkin of makin my own skid plates to cover the tcase the autobox sump and the engine sump an front diff..jus wonderin how thick steel sheet to use??

      I've got an alloy bashplate to protect sump made from 6mm alloy sheet. Takes the knocks well.

        didnt think of usin alloy was gona use steel but it'd be quicker an easier to work wit alloy...hows the 6mm hold up to rocks an the likes??

          6mm recommended minimum thickness of aluminium
          ASFIR (expensive) use 6mm aluminium

          I used 4mm aluminium chequer-plate, but strengthened it with lots of steel bars.

          and I think 3mm for steel is OK
