Hi all.
finally fed up of not being able to see out of my 3.0 L 2nd gen surf.
screen blowers feeble though fan working fine. sound familiar?
the cause turned out to be the cranked arm on the motor (below the radio) that operates the flaps in the central airbox.
(white plastic mechanism just visible up from the pedals. i lay there with a torch and watched as i pushed all the buttons from left to right ).
it was one spline out, so it didnt pull all the way it was suposed to and had bent the controle wire were it tried to push it further than it would go.
(i got a spare air box from a 2.4 2nd gen and the wire was bent in just the same way).
so i straightened the wire where it had bent just by the motor arm and moved the arm one spline (only) towards the passenger side (mark location first maybe? not really possible without taking the motor out).
no more misting up and all the blower outlets work a treat.
hope that helps someone.
