  • steering vibration

    hi lads
    been noticing for a couple of weeks now i am getting a vibration through the steering wheel when i am turning and it seems a little bit harder to turn than it used to be, i am thinking pump or rack anyone had these symptons before, if so what did you change first.

    check the power steering fluid and also make sure the belt is tight

      Power steering belts (can't remember if a turd gen has them) are loose or the fluid level is low.

          right lads wish everything was as easy to fix it was only low fluid level, checked the rack no leaks so don,t know whats going on, anyway thanks for all the info.

            did you pull the gattors off where they meet the tie rods? if the seals have gone then the fluid may be in the gattors............i think.

                had a mate who found his tyres were worn oddly this caused judder through his steering too,he found when moved his hand over the top of the tyre it dipped and were not even just a thought as it been stood for long time.
