Bronze bushes

Hi all
Does anybody know what the end float on the front shafts should be?
I had a small noise from the front (rumbling not hammer drill) and suspected a bearing but on inspection the bearing looks ok but the shaft is a little floppy in the bronze bushes should they be a snug fit?
I think they need changing but just want to confirm before I change them.

The inner bushes are never 'tight' but if the shafts rattle over potholes it's normally time to change them.

The outer bush should be reasonable tight on the washer behind the circlip, its shouldn't be 'easy' to get the clip on, the shaft itself is loose in the outer bush but it dosn't matter because the drive plate or manual hub supports end of the shaft.

Grease them and try again, if noise goes away them you can change them or see how it goes with the grease, if the noise is still there you know its not the bushes.

Manaul for specs is in the garage so don't know if there are actual measurements.

I will take another look when I get chance I didn’t check the float before I stripped it but the clip was tight to come off.
I only realized it was sloppy after I had taken the clip and washer off so maybe the noise isn’t that then

End float should be between 0.075mmm and 0.69mm with a maximum of 1.0mm. There are two washer thicknesses, one is 1.8mmm and the other 2.25mm. If more than 1.0mm end float and using a 1.8mm thick washer, change to the 2.25mm washer. If more than 1.0mm end float and using the 2.25mm thick washer, bushes are worn and need replacing.

Does anybody know where you can get the 2.25 washers from? Cant see them on Milners or Roughtrax.
End float is .95mm with a 1.8 washer after putting some pressure between the stub and the washer so probably ok for now greased up but if I can get a washer will be better.

You'll probably find the washers are main dealer only.

You may have to go armed with actual part number if local dealer is the import grumpy type. But they should be able to find parts if you take frame number and model number in off the data plate on bulkhead.

Excellent thanks guys have put it back together as is repacked the wheel bearings and will see what’s its like but at least I know I can shim it out with the washers if needed. Am very supprised how easy these are to work on once you know how it all goes.
Need to wait for the batteries to charge up than will give her a run.
Defiantly needs pads and 1 top ball joint 1 shock leaking a little need to wip all the other wheels off and check them now.

All back together and the noise has gone so it was the bush or bearing.
Hopefully it will stay quiet but if it returns at least I know to try the larger washer.
