Arnt we supposed to help each other out if we get stuck with something????? Is that not the point of a vehicle specific forum???? You can google all day and night and still not find an answer to your question granted there is search option on the forum but are we not friendly enough to point in the right direction or just answer the query????? On the chaps question I don't really have an answer or suggestion just yet so sorry.

Brake fluid freezing points are not vehicle specific and simple to find out on Google.
Plus, the poster started being arsey, so he kind of scuppered his chances of being helped by most of us.
And he piggy backed on to an old thread, which isn't a good idea either.
my bad on the piggy back post thing, agreed he did get arsey but i guess he just wanted a straight answear to get his truck working. anyways i still have no suggestions for him.

Vince could have be more helpful in his first reply, but it was a pretty silly theory, he was just expressing his opinion on the question. lol.
All the answers ARE in the thread, and in numerous others if you search for then.
I don't agree on demanding everyone searches for everything, otherwise the forum would be pretty boring, but there has to be a little give and take, people who arn't outright newbies and still don't search and get sarcastic answers have to live with a little abuse, and the people who are bored of reading/replying to the same question over and over again have to resist being overly nasty answering run of the mill questions that turn up.

i do understand that mate totaly and agreed on all the points you raised however before I ask a question gauranteed it will be the last resort so if I do ever pose question i would just like a point in the right direction or just told what or how to sort my particular problem, cause by then ill be pulling my hair out and sulking like a scolded child. however the chap that originaly put the snotty post up could of rephrased his question. on the other hand if he isnt mechanicaly minded or not fully clued up on that subject how could he know what to search for?????? either way i was just saying not having a go at anyone inparticular hence i didnt quote anyone.
First off thanks Nev for the servo test suggestion and all seems well thre, but againthe brake light remained on for seven miles, went off and stayed off. It seems to do this after the truck has been standing over night, even though i dont use the hand brake, fluid level seems ok as well.
Now to answer subsequent posts. My initial post was not made in an arsey manner just my reply to post made in reply. I did not hijack the post as the OPs problem was solved and my post actually followed on from his final reply.
Far from not being bothered to do a search for a solution, my search on the forum threw up this particular thread and others i found didnt match my problem as well as this one did,
So to sumarise, not i was not arsey, but now getting there towards others who only have a sad opinion and no real help. Yes i searched the forum first, otherwise id have started my own thread. No i dont hijack posts. And on other forums, thread specific questions from other posters are welcome as a combined set of replies from various posters can be of immense help.
Its not the first time ive noticed some members will take the time typing a sarky reply or criticise the poster and never take the time to offer any rael help.
My mother had a saying " If you cant say anything good, say nothing at all"
Yet again this thread has been reduced to throwing stones instead of assistance with my genuine query for help.

So at what point do you consider i got arsey in my first post ?? , feel free to quote !!
And at what point dooes following on a thread of very similar nature become piggy backing. Sutely better to follow on rather than start a new thread with more or less exactly the same problem.

It'll be the float switch in the reservoir sticking then.
Obviously when applying the brakes, the level drops slightly and the float switch compensates for this, (up to a point.)
When the trucks isn't used for a while i.e. overnight, the float sticks in the higher position.
When you've driven for a while, the sloshing of the brake fluid in the reservoir eventually dislodges the float switch and the light goes out.
p.s. It's advisable to apply the handbrake once in a while to keep it adjusted correctly. (The shoes self-adjust to keep them the correct didstance from the insides of the brake drums, everytime the handbrake is applied)

Don't think he mentioned 'your first post' as being arsey. I would guess he was alluding to your second.
I could be wrong though. Feel free to quote. (please insert oddly overenthusiastic number of exclamation/question marks here)

Thankyou Bush, i knew a fellow valley boy would eventually offer sound advise, and and explanation for the possible problem. I hope you can see the reasons for my little rant and others the error of their ways. My problem to one side for a mo, i contribute quite heavily to IT forums, and on times while replying to complete novices have to explain things in lengthy analogies and i dont ever give two word non productive replies.
I appreciate there are quite a few hard ar*e piston heads on this forum who dont suffer fools gladly, but id would have hoped that someone,(as you have now done) would think to themselves "shi*, this guy might have his kids in the truck and his brakes might fail completely". Alas it appears that some dont think the same way i do. Thanks for the heads up on the handbrake, will now do as you advise and will probably now avoid having to ask why this or that with the handbrake in future.

Just the sort of sarcastic reply im im refering to !!!! Was there any need for you to comment on a post specifically to Albannach. My point proved.
and mine I think.
Now theres no need to be so argumentative. It's Christmas still (ish).
If you've been a member (I mean of this forum, obviously ) for this long and read through old threads via your search for answers, then surely you know that sarcasm is a fairly common occurence here. Be a bit boring without it. Really what you're complaining about is quite mild so no need to be precious.
