  • KZN 130 3.0L TD injector pump removal

Hi. New to the Forum, have had injector pump failure (no fuel delivery evident at injectors but lift pump produces plenty of fuel to line immediately before the injector pump indicating to me that it can't be a blockage in the fuel line from the tank to pump). This followed months of difficult cold starting, sometimes with a complete failure to start at all. I should add I have run a 50/50 wvo/diesel mix for a couple of years, using the German saverbee heating system. Yesterday the Surf refused to start, other than firing up, ticking over very badly for 5-10 secs and then cutting out. Finally it wouldn't start at all. I spent an hour or two reading all the threads I could find on the forum(fantastic knowledge base) and set about stripping it down today. All went very well, cambelt off, pump pulley off. two bolts either side at the front of the injector pump removed and one on the bracket at the back. All pump (fuel and electrical)connections were removed. Here comes the problem, spent the last three hours trying to loosen and remove the pump and it will not budge. I have looked everywhere for another connection point that I have missed but have found nothing, I assume it is just tight on its location boss.

I would be really grateful for some advice, I would like to get it in the post tomorrow for a rebuild at Diesel Bob's.
    Barry
