Still got power and gearbox problems

Thanks for the link. Now I've sorted this problem I wasn't going to attempt to remove any filters out of the injection pump! I don't want to break it unneccesarily.

However, I did a longer drive in the surf at the weekend and I still did get a feeling that the torque converter was intermittently not locking up ie. the revs were dropping when on the flat and staying a little highter than they should. it is definitely in overdrive though.

And the speedo is still playing. Could these two be linked? eg. speed sensor or TPS or ECU?
