  • Hilux 91 surf smoking

Hi guys ok, my hilux 91 surf is smoking like a chimny, this is whats been done to it, heads been tested, new head gasket, reconed turbo, new timing belt, new air, oil and fuel filters, the car will not go over 60kms an hour, it pours smoke, black smoke, the turbo doesnt seem to be kicking in at all and the green turbo light in the dash is not coming on( apart from when you glow it). on my fuel pump i have noticed some slightly bared wire that couldve touched and shorted out, in the picture you will see the cylinder plug on the side of the pump it is on the other end of that, also my tacho is pointing due south.. all these where working before the turbo and head gasket...help please.

Check connections at the turbo pressure sensor, vacuum and electrical, it's bolted to the side of the air filter housing next to the power steering reservoir.

Re: the tacho needle, it's either gone all the way around the dial and is just hanging there, the needle has come off the shaft or the stop pin on the tacho face is missing.

hi mate will check those connections again now but i have done them but it dosnt hurt, the stop pin is still in place, my thought was that apparretly these run off the full pump electrics and if thats the case it may be the link to the whole problem
