  • Electric aerial, 3rd gen

How bad a job is it to remove the electric aerial ?
Mine has a working motor, but the mechanism or belt has gone..
I kno the ones on Shoguns were a total PIA to do..

not sure on the 3rd gen ones but the 2nd gen ariel will fit the 3rd gen.You just gotr to keep the rubber that sits on the wing from the 3rd gen ariel and fit it to the 2nd gen ariel

Ah, I'll bear that in mind. I was hoping to fix this one, having seen the price of a replacement on Roughtrax. I also looked at a thread from a couple of years ago, which suggested it might not be too bad a job..

Read bout the racks wearing out ? Sounds like it, lots of whirring and clunking.
Left a message for you your page about the wheel..

Right, not a bad job to get at, a couple of butchered arch liner clips, but hey ho...
Anyway, the rack, a coil of plastic teeth connected to the whip, has snapped.
Think I'll just replace it with a generic electric aerial...

I've a 2nd gen aerial I took off mine when I fitted the snorkel, it goes up and down and seems to work. You can have it for the postage and a donation to forum funds
