  • Removing rear diff

    I have taken the rear prop,both halfshafts and taken out the bolts etc holding the diff to the axel.How the hell is the diff supposed to come out once everything is off and out the way.I need to get this diff out asap so i can get rid of the rest of the truck.Any help will be great

      Probably stuck on with age Rich. Give a tap all around with a block of wood and hammer to break the 'seal'. Mind it don't drop on you.

        I have been hammering it all round and even used a chisel aswell but the ruddy thing still won't give.

        I have double,trebled,quadrupled checked all the bolts etc are out

          My old one was really really tight. In the end, I had to whack the casing at the pinion end with a mash hammer (and a bit of wood) a few times to get it to crack. Keep your body out of the road and have something soft under it to stop it breaking if it falls out (which it probably won't).
