  • Arrgh! Nuts Rusty Again!

    Bl00dy wheel nuts!

Just noticed that the are completely rusted AGAIN!

    It looks REAL bad!

I rubbed them down to the bare metal and laquered them and what a waste of time it was!

Have tried it with Hammerite as well.

Surely there must be some way of stopping the rust?

The salt/grit that the council seem to put down (when they can be bothered)lately is very harsh!

I've noticed it attacking my alloy wheels as well.

Anyone found a good way of keeping the rust at bay?

ERPS rust prevention for the body....think i have a link will look it out..basically just provides a charge to the body to stop rust forming as quick

here you go http://www.erps.com.au/how-erps-works.html and i think there is a write up on it here

      Re

      Looks interesting!

If the theory works then it might be an idea to weld an sacrificial anode onto the chassis.

When I was a fishing boat owner I had to do this regulary, Ive seen huge lumps of zinc disappear within 6 months!

I wonder if the oxidation regures submergance in water though!

      Cheers!

If you're only worried about appearance fit some of those chrome look plastic covers.
