I needed to change my rear anti-roll bar bushes to get the surf throught it's mot, N/S was fine, but when undoing the bracket on the O/S both of the bolts snapped....... i've got the bottom one out, but i'm having no luck with the top one, does anyone have any ideas i could try.

    Thanks Rob

With snapped bolts i usually drill and re- tap them, would you be able to get at it with a drill?

a right-angled drill would work better in the tight space

when this happened to me, i managed to chisel out the old bolt and staking nut - took a long time...
then somehow fitted a short bolt in there, and pushed it out through the hole from the inside.
i also had to then use a g-clamp to help fit the new bushing and bracket to compress enough to get the new nut onto the bolt

          a real hassle

            snaped bolt

As you are changing the bushes you won't need to do it again for a while so i would Refit the one bolt and weld the other side of the bracket

I'd not bother refitting the ARB.

I used a small cold chisel to remove the captive nut (its only held on with 4 tiny welds), then used a normal nut and bolt.

Nothin a bit of welding an alot of water wont fix. Had to have mine welded as snapped clean off.
