Another LC80 Spring thread!

Does anyone know (exactly, not roughly) what the inside diameter of the top of the rear spring is?

I tried measuring mine, but it's not easy measuring the diameter of a helix!

You want the Cruiser or Surf measurements? Measurements for original springs are OD 165 - ID 137 - 14 mm.

The cruiser ones. I think the OD is 176mm with 18mm wire?

If you have the springs to hand, just lay one on the floor and push a breezeblock onto either side and then measure between the blocks. Vernier the spring itself and then double it and subtract from the breezeblock measurement for the internal.

If you dont have calipers then wrap some paper round the spring, use a pen to mark where it overlaps and measure it acurately. Then divide the figure by pi for the spring thickness. (18mm measurement)
