  • Adjustable Shocks

    Hello,

quick question - why didn't Toyota fit the 4Runner with electric adjustable shocks as per the Surf?

Has anybody ever retro-fitted electric shocks to a 4Runner and is it worth the hassle? I had a 2.4 Surf with electric shocks and they really cut the body roll on corners, but my 4Runner seems to be set up stiffer than the Surf was with the shocks turned "off"...may have been my Surf just had knackered shocks, of course...

    Just interested, really.

    cheers.

I got to thinking about this again now I'm driving over 4" of lumpy ice everywhere I go and the ride is a bit like driving over corregated iron...

Has anybody got any thoughts at all?

    Cheers.

i've taken the adjustable shocks off my surf and fitted it with rancho rs 9000 and these give a much better ride than the stock ones

Stock ones on mine where crap at both setting, the lifted ones are better on and off road!
        Nissan Patrol for on-road, and a Land-Rover 110 shed for off-road :-)

Thanks for that - I thought that might be the case.

          Cheers.
