  • vibrations shakin my head lose

    on my hilux surf 2.4 it has just started vibrating on tickover and shaking doors the whole works but as soon as you rev or hit the idle speed switch it goes, its really annoying me ive checked the gearbox mount and it seems ok

    oh and my missus gave birth to our little boy on sunday at 19:07 at 8lb1 all healthy and ok

    Congratulations on the new arrival Rob and hope everything went ok.

    What rpm is the truck on at tickover as it needs to be about 850rpm

        what about adjusting the throttle p[osition sensor a bit to see if that helps.A mate of mine had similar to yours and once adjusted the tps it was ok.

              Get underneath and see what state the gearbox mount is in - mine did that and the mount was shot - so we replaced it, in a field, in Cornwall......proper job!!

                thats right the 1st rtts wan't it and at least it was nice weather to do it aswell and a proper job well done and it wasn't done dreckly either

                  is this sensor easy to adjust and ive checked all the mounts there all fine and i like fixin cars in daft places it makes the job worth doin

                    isnt there like some sort of balancer on the front pulley that causes a vibration if worn.. am i thinking of the harmonic balancer?

                          i did my water pump months ago and all the belts it wouldnt have out to do with that and there aint anythin called a harmonic balancer as i can see have a look on this great website http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/waterpump.htm
