  • Rear suspension question

Just like to say what a great site - have learned lots from just reading all the different posts.

I have a 1990 2nd generation surf and the back shocks are leaking. Was going to replace them with non ajustable ones but was in a breakers yard the other day and he has a 3rd generation surf in. What I would like to know is would the rear shocks from the 3rd gen fit my 2nd gen surf. Also would the rear springs also fit.

Nah, don't think so Buzz, the 2nd and 3rd Gen's don't have a lot of interchangable parts (apart from 3.0l engine). Rear shocks and springs are certainly different.

Which breaker has the 3rd gen, is it very complete? Couple of small bits I'd like to get, might be worth another drive up north.....

Cheers for the response - think she was stoved in at the front but looked pretty complete otherwise - Mackins 4x4 breakers of Saintfield - sometimes advertises in the Autotrader

Hi Buzz, just rang them, they don't have any 3rd Gen models, just a few 2nd Gen's, so any bits you find there should certainly fit yours.
