  • Ball Joint

Been told I have a lot of play on the front lower ball joints and they need replaced, is there anything else I need to replace along with these as I can do without extra orders after I send for them, other components look ok to me, then again so did the BJ's. Hazzo

if the upper bj's are old originals it may pay to order those aswell and fit them at the same time that way you know you got decent ones top and bottom and they should last a while.
Its up to you if you want to spend on doing the tops aswell as they could go on a while yet but omn the other hand they could go anytime

are you fitting them yourself or getting the garage to do it? if you are you will need a ball joint remover the scissor type and a grease gun! also keep the nipples off the orginal because some new ones dont come with them! and yeah as stormforce said replace left and right side at the same time!

you can test it yourself if you jack up the front of the car so the wheel is off the ground use the jack bar put it under the wheel then try and push the wheel up into the wheel arch it will be hard but if there is play in either ball joint the wheel will up but the upper or lower arm will not move it will be obvious if they have gone.

oh also you might need the tracking redoing as it can send it way out
