2.4 to 3.0 diff swap?

Can I stick a 2.4 front diff in my 3.0 or would I need to swap the rear as well to prevent transmission wind up, thinking they are different ratios but I was unsure.
If I did have to swap both over I imagine I would have lower gearing on the truck?

if you have the vin plates from both vehicles then the ratios are printed on the plates,if they match then it wont be a problem.but if they are different then you will have to change front and rear.

I have just done that one. Just made sure that both mine and the donors diff codes matched as per what mt stein said.

Tested it yesterday and all works well apart from small electrical problem with one of the sensors i need to sort.
