Rear tail gate window stuck up!!!

Hi surfers I have a problem with the tail gate window on my K plate 2.4. It's stuck in the up position tried using the key and the button with no luck, I have noticed that when I press the button to go up the interior lights dim so I guess there i some power getting to the button. Any ideas on how to trace the fault? could it be a relay.

PS I had just changed the engine and transmission oil when I found out about the window do one job and make two more

Two more things to check....
1. Have you accidently pressed the window lock button on the driver's door?
2. Is the rear wiper seated properly?

Tried the window lock button but not the wiper I will look in the morning. Thanks BUSHWACKER any other ideas on what it might be? We use the Surf daily so I don't think it's seized.

more than likely motor gone,fairly easy job

get the rear seats down, clear out the rear and strip off the rear gate internal trim... bolts are on the inside of the rear gate if memory serves... but easy to work out once you have the cover off.

Even harder if the window sticks down... then it is a real pain...
