Hi folks,
Only had my surf for a year or so and still sorting through the havoc previous owners have wrought...
My 2L-TE is suffering from a poor start despite changing one battery, oil air and fuel filters, fitting new glow plugs and reconnecting the turbo boost sensor. (it goes properly now!!)
Basically it starts rough, almost like its "missing" on one cylinder, whilst belching grey smoke out. This go's on for anything between 10-30 seconds, then settle's down and runs like normal. It only occurs when the engine is cold though.
Apparently the EGR can be a culprit on these engines, but Ive a couple of mixed replies on this... Any help or advice would be gratefully received!
