  • front wheel bearings

    hey guys
    i have a 1990 surf 2l-t
    it has been brought to my attention that it needs new front wheel bearings
    the only thing is i am quite mechanicly minded but i have never changed wheel bearings before does anyone know where i can get a write up on how to do it

        cheers it's not that easy to get them fixed in australia their not that popular so mechanics want to charge you a arm and a leg to do anything

          Mate, there's thousands of Surfs in Australia but unfortunately you can get ripped of with the .....Oh it's a Surf story, hand over your wallet. Front wheel bearings are no more difficult than any other Hilux and widely available at any bearing supplier.

          Koyo or Nachi bearings are available.

          Inner Bearing JLM104948/10
          Outer Bearing LM102949/10
          Seal is 66mm ID X 85mm OD X 10mm W

          You will also need a hub flange gasket and a lockwasher for each side. Nuts are available if you need them.

          All the above available at most bearing suppliers. Don't go to CBC they are expensive.
