new shocks??

Hi all,
Just wondering how i would know if i needed new shocks, ?as the standard bounce test might prove tricky without a ladder!!Also have a half inch difference on front two from wheel centre to arch.

Shocks normally show signs of leakage- i.e oil everywhere. One side low is more likely to be torsion bars- which can be tightened. If you can be bothered take shocks off and test if any resistance when squashing them.

Ok cheers for the info, I have ordered an owners manual, so I will most likely be back on here looking to fix numerous errors!!
