TrueTrac and Diff Ratios

I am going to put a Detroit TrueTrac into my 2nd Gen 3.0lt auto rear diff housing, I am running 33" tyres.
Would it be best to change the ratio while I'm at it?
If so what would you guys recomend?
2/3rds on road 1/3rd offroad usage.

if your changing ratios you will have to change the front as well, i wouldnt bother the ratios that are available you prob wouldnt notice

Agree with Lord lucan on this one.


33's wont affect gearing enough to warrent the now probably close to £1500 it would cost to regear.

I got my rear diff while the exchange rate was good an its just under £500 for one diff.

Didn't get the front an whilst it doesn't affect me that much as i hardly use 4wd. Trying to sell the truck on as needing hundreds worth of diff parts to get 4wd going again is going to be f**king hard work...

So im waiting for the exchange rate to sort itself out before i lash out for the front!

Are you thinking of selling up ?

I'd have thought your best option would be to return it to standard with the help of the breakers on this site and sell all your special bits on seperately.

A 2nd hand rear axle is way cheaper than a new front diff.

Not selling up yet mate.

But this year has always been 'Dodge year' in my head.

When my insurance is up for renewal im going hunting for my Ram!!

I'll send you a pm re: the lights.

But you probably are right actually.

With the current market it probably would be in my best interest to go back to stock an sell the bits!

The markets a pain in the butt!! Its nice to get a cheap yank tank but then its all offset by the surf being worth a handful of special beans!

Im not sure what the feck to do anymore!!
