also the clutch pedal components are assembled on a brass colored plate and it is bolted to the bulkhead. The whole unit came unstuck on the bulkhead last year on mine and had to be welded back on in the end, pedal was going right to the floor and getting stuck there. I've seen others on US site whose plate cracked.

There is definatly no air or leaks, it dosn't feel like that. I was thinking a seal was rolling over and jamming in the master cylinder, but Jims post could also work.
Havn't really looked properly yet, and wasn't gonna buy a new master or slave cylinder anyway as its all coming out soon for the real engine and autobox.

Originally posted by TonyNCool, this is interesting, ours works fine, but if you hold the pedal down for more a few seconds, you can feel the clutch dragging harder and harder, as if your letting the pedal up, then if you take your foot of the pedal, it stays on the floor, or only half way up. If you hook your foot under the pedal and pull it up, it works fine as you press the pedal, and does it all again.

Definatley sounds like seal failure on the master or slave .
General rule is the fluid gets contaminated and softens one seal but also starts on the others , so best rule change all seals on the clutch master and slave . May cost a bit but the fliud and seals will all be new and can be forgotten about for a couple of years .

i changed the seals in the slave cylinder first still the same then changed the seals in the master cylinder was ok but the probem came back after a month or so it seemed to be worse when the engine got hot but when i changed the master cylinder it cured it. then later on it started jumping out of first gear, then the heater matrix went then the rear brake cylinders went and the radiator cracked and the exhaust back box rotted off the rear window motor broke other than that it was brilliant and i covered about 60,000 miles over 3 years
