ECU question

Have just found that my flexi intake air hose is split to buggery, so have done a quick bodge on it.... so if the air sensor has not being getting the right readings or whatever it does, will i need to reset the ecu ?
Im only asking as i had something similar on a V6 mondeo before and found out that i had to disconnect the batt for 15 mins
