  • parking brake light intermittent

After bashing round the Clog I noticed my handbrake light is coming on if I go round a left hand corner or hit bumps, it then goes back off.
Handbrake might need a bit of adjustment, need to do that on friday.

    Any ideas?

Could it be that you are low on Brake Fluid ?

fluid is above min and below max, under halfway on these two marks.

i have new braided hoses ordered and I will do a brake overhaul on friday, see if it still happens, new shoes and pads going on and new fluid.

I,ve just discovered the same sort of problem!!!!
When parked with the handbrake on the light doesn't always come on, but when driving with the handbrake off, the dash light comes on intermittently!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone any clues. (it's not the fluid levels!)

A common problem on 2nd gen Surfs is the float switch in the reservoir sticks.

Is the switch at the pull-lever end or at the wheel end?
