  • Shuddering Surf

Now then, still sorting out the shudder at 40mph on my 92 ssr-x 2.4 auto.
Mechanic looked at it today and dismissed wheel balance, UJ joints and transmission.
He suspects it has something to do with the fuel system electronics and various pipework.
Recommends connecting up to diagnostic whilst on a rolling road.
Does anyone know of any links that explain the 2.4 fuel system especially identifying the various parts.
    Cheers for any help

No mate The problem is at 40mph the whole truck shudders like it was firing on 3 pots instead of 4, increase revs above 1750 making speed about 45mph and it fades off. Mechanic manually operated throttle cable and we noticed a small curved linkage under what looks like a vacuum assembly.

Are you sure it is related to engine revs rather than road speed? If the steering damper is worn it'll shake the fillings out of your teeth at about 45mph!

        Best of luck...
