  • Stereo!!!!

OK. I want a decent stereo for my surf, I believe the type I require is a double din, (does this mean it's twice the size?) My questions are, where's the best place to buy one from?
How much should I expect to pay?
Do I have to have a double din?
Halfrauds do a fascia converter, anyone tried it?

    Cheers, Damian

You dont have to have a 'double din' unit.

Halfords do a 'useful' pocket which can be fitted under a standard radio, to fill up the space.

WHEN my surf arrives, I'll shall be looking for one with a single CD slot, that plays mp3s.

You can fit 10 or 11 albums on one CD in mp3 format... no need to bother with CD autochangers any more. IMHO
Never argue with an idiot... they drag you down to their level - then beat you with experience!!

search for double din on ebay, i use a single unit with the halfrauds cubby box, it looks ok, but not as neat as the double din i took out. Use the wiring harness adapter (if your radio wiring plugs have not been cut) again from halfrauds, most toyotas from this era use the same adapter.

that is correct, but if you have an amp fitted at the back of the radio, i think they come as standard on the ssr-g, a different one is required and its £30 instead of £10, its the one which fits the toyota mr2 as they have the same set-up
