Does anyone know if all Toyota seats use the same fixing method? ie two horizontal bolts at the front, two vertical bolts at the rear?

It should be easy enough to see at a glance. The Surf seat mounts are very simple. I haven't looked to see if you can take the seats off the subframes though - that might open possibilities.

the seat appears to bolt into the subframe horizontally and from the sides, although i'm not sure how the reclining mechanism works with the seat back.

It also appears you may be able to drill out a pair of rivets on each side and separate two parts of the subframe, to give you a pair of flat runners to work from if you want to adapt something else to fit.

I wasn't looking to fit buckets or anything like that, I was just hoping to fit seats from a late model Toyota of some sort as the drivers seat in mine doesn't offer the support it used to, and I dont fancy the 3000 mile round trip next year sitting in it.
