evening lads ! i have a 2.4 surf on a J plate . havin probs with 4x4 system , was wondering if anyone can shed some light on them !? firstly when engaging 4wd with the little gear stick the green light on the dash sometimes flicks on then stays out and the 4wd doesnt work ? secindly , i can get the 4wd working with the 4wd button but its very fussy as to wen the light stays on and also if the light does stay on it will only stay on for 5 mins ? can anyone help ? cheers guys !

fixed it !
found the problem ,i disconnected the oil pressure switch on the back of the transfer box and now 4wd works with both the stick and the button , but the green light doesnt come on so im guessing if i replace it all will be good ! thanks for the helps guys ! jonComment

proper fixed now !
managed to get hold of an oil pressure switch , which actually turns out to be an 'engaged or not' switch , fitted it and it was exactly the same , glad i didnt buy a new one from toyota (£88) anyways after some more research i spotted something that didnt look quite right . some tw*t put the vaccum pipes on the valves the wrong way . angry but happy at the same time ! lol . thanks again for the help ! cheers JonComment
