I ve bought a 1993 3 litre diesel with a top end knock,on idel its ok,tap the throttle and it rattles then goes off,,i ve removed the camshaft bearing caps and they are scored but the camshaft is ok 
,ok,,some body has removed them in the past and replaced number 4 where number 3 should be,even though the number is cast on top,1,2,3,4,5 
,,that does nt help!!!!!!.
LOOKS AS IF SOMEONE HAS RAN THIS ENGINE DRY,it starts first time,no smoke,no overheating,,,my question is who can point me in the direction of new camshaft bearing caps,, i ve looked on milners but cant see them... many thanks for all your help,,,
