hi,, i ve just driven a 500 mile round trip on 100% veg oil, towing a heavy trailer of 650 kgs and the return journey with a 3 litre diesel hilux on the trailer,,unlike my experience while towing my caravan there was no clutch problem which is strange because i was towing more than 1 ton more this time...I added 4 gallons on diesel to flush my system on my approach to home,I am aware possible damage can be done leaving veg oil in the system
So just to let you know my 1989 2.4 diesel runs very well on new veg oil,but when using 100% its tickover when cold is lumpy but starts ok,once diesel is added you can feel the difference,, yes this 2.4 engine is underpowered but it still pulls the legal limit with a full load and is totally reliable,,returns 27 mpg at 70 mph
I have driven 3200 miles using the same standard fuel filter with no problems from blockages.
