  • Brake Drum Gasket??

The gasket on the rear drums, does it need to be replaced or can you re use the old one?

Just about to start changing drums and shoes and i see a gasket mentioned in the manual on matt's site.

Yeah, theres rarely one left on most trucks by now, can't remember the last time I did a truck that had one left, I'd just ignore it. A little copper slip on the hub stops its corroding to the drum.

Its more important to make sure those two faces are clean, so the drum sits true on the end of the axle.
