Is this due to flat batt? Or should i check something else too?

I think it may be a battery problem though.

not sure about the engine to chassis one but on most cars its a strap some where close to the starter or alternator
the battery to chassis is easy negative terminal on battery has i wire going to the inner wing, if you offroad a lot or theres rust around the points of contact you may have to undo the connections and clean them up, lubricate with vaseline or similar and reconnect.

Yeah, I'd be worried with that - someone's nicked the right hand battery and IT'S TOO CLEAN

                      Quick Battery Check

Put the headlights on then try and start the engine.
If the lights go realy dim then it is most probably a battery problem as in FLAT
                      or BU**GR*D.

Not the most technical way but quick and easy.

The other (technical) way is a voltmeter across the +and - battery terminals and abserve/look at the voltage when cranking the engine over this will tell all

                      Regards.
