Vehicles as far back as '83 use the same thermostat so if you can source part number 90916-03072 (62) it will be the same thermostat. 90916-03099 is simply the newer part number.

All is well now, well for now. I am ordering a Pitman arm, Idler arm, Thermostat, Thermostat gasket from mustangconnection in armstrong bc! if the thermostat dont work I will buy a new heater core!
P.S. - if anyone in bc is lookin for parts call these guys @ mustangconnection! or E-mail them! awsome service! if I E-mail them they respond within like an Hour or so! they even sent pictures of surfs to make sure the pitman and idler arms were for my surf! since they were different the first half of the year then the second half! i am impressed!
