Asking the obvious here, but the coolant isn't low is it ?

And the blower motor is working isn't it ? if so can it blow out (hot/cold) in other positions bar defrost ?
Look out Eastbourne, the Pandas are coming !

mine wouldnt blow hot,but after looking under the bonnet,i located where the control cable was "supposed" to be connected to the hot/cold valve, and it had come off.dont know about yours but the valve on a 2.4 is just right of centre on the bulkhead.
      Non intercooled nothing.

Does the temperature gauge come up to around the middle or not? If it doesn't then you're either low on coolant, or your thermostat needs replacing.

No iam not low on coolant! I pulled my thermostat and I have a pretty bad scale goin on in my coolant system, but my new thermostat is in tomorrow and i am gonna flush my coolant system very good! i do read temprature on my gauge( its abit below the half way mark), but not no more since i pulled the thermostat and i just left it for a couple days! and its full blown winter here. and the heater does blow air but just cold air! and in the summer it blew warm air? so i will try the thermostat and go from there!
thanx for all of your help! i love this web site, its so damn helpful!

Don't forget the anti-freeze, and use distilled water to help prevent rust forming in the cooling system.

Hmm, if you've got a build up of scale then it could be blocking a valve or parts of the heater matrix. A good flush through with a de-scaler should help that.

I can imagine that a working heater is a bit of an essential item for a Canadian winter.

I Flushed My Coolant Last Night! And My Heater Core Was Completely Pluged Off, So We Blasted Air Through It. The Problem Was From Someone Using Rad Leak Sealer And Way To Much!, The Build Up Was Unreal! Any Ways, Can Some One Give Me Numbers For A Thermostat Availiable In Canada Relatively Easy(like Over Night Kinda Thing) Please. Any Help Is Nice

I would get the t/stat from Toyota, it won't cost any more than a patent part, and it will definately be the correct item for the job.

We have a similar problem here, but the Toyota database will find the parts if you give them your frame number, the Brit toy dealers won't work on imports, but most of the parts are the same, my dealer can get pretty much anything, as all the parts come from Japan anyway, even for the 4runners etc.

Phone them back and ask to speak to a manager, I'll try to find the part no for ya.

90916-03099 is the part number for the thermostat. 16341-35010 for the rubber gasket. Thiese are used on all the L series engines.
