Warped front discs

Was having problems with the juddering when braking, the steering wheel was vibrating like mad. Was going order some new discs from Milners but then somebody said take it to Auto Centres and get them skimmed. called in today and they did it on the car while I waited. Result, brillient. Stops better than ever, in a straight line and no judder. much cheaper than new disc,s.

How much did they charge you? I had a similar problem 5-10 years ago on a Peugeot which was sorted the same way. Did you remove the discs and take them there or just drive in? I ask because I think my Surf has the startings of this - I can feel a very slight judder which I'll have to keep an eye on.

I had them done on the car at Auto Centres in Queens Bank, Newport S/Wales was approx £35 for both fronts. Not sure if Auto Centres are a national chain or just local. Will try to find out. From watching them I would think the equipment used was only held by brake service specialists
