  • power steering noise on startup

Hi, hope someone has a bit of advice kicking around spare.

Had my first Surf for 8 weeks, and loving it except for one recent occurence.
When first started, moving the wheel is tougher than usual and i can hear a hydraulic type "grinding"noise.
Once i have been driving for 10 minutes or so it seems to dissapear, not fully, but much less than when first started.
Steering fluid level is fine, but looks bubbly, if thats possible.
There are no visible leaks on joints in the engine bay coming from the steering system.

Will try Idle Up as suggested in the forum previously, but that wont be till tomorrow.
Anyone like to chuck their 10 pence in?

    TIA

Hi, and welcome, check the belt tension and condition, and the pulleys.

If the fluid is "bubbly" it could be air, but I've not heard of that before.

Might be worth changing the fluid if the other bits look ok.

    Still working for the man!
