  • Power Steering Problems

Ok guys, new problemo. Whenever i turn the wheel i'm getting a rubbing sound from the power steering, sounds like a belt to me. Also when i sniff the fluid (which is still full) it smells burned. Any ideas? It's making a right $$$$$$ racket and almost impossible to turn the steering.

If anyone can help please either reply here or call or txt 07732057628 as i'm out and about today.

First thing to check is the belt tension/condition. 14mm spanner if I remember.

Power steering pump is at the bottom/front of the engine, passenger side.

Which belt is it? I can't even locate the pump!! I've found the reservoir but not the pump itself?

Bit tricky running in and outof the house to check it out lol!!

OK found it and it looks like the high pressure hose i leaking. But the fluid isn't going anywhere, the little dipstick in the power sterring reservoir is still saying full at cold.

        Bit lost.

Also mate, if level is at bottom of cold and engine is warm, its too low! I was on the phone by the way. This little reply should pull your post to the top again. Leaking high pressure pipe seems to be the problem. Also do as search in the forums for powersteering problems, may have been covered before
