  • New Wheels & Tyres Help

    Guys,

Just traded up from a 2nd gen to 3rd Gen intercooler. Jees - power on 3rd gen blows 2nd gen away. I realise you need the extra power for all the hairdressing accessories that come with the 3rd gen but I can live with that (I think).

Anyway, wheels on new 3rd gen are pretty sha**ed so am looking to change wheels and tyres. Want to make the truck look a bit more butch and would like new wheels and tyres which will fill the width of the arches - No pimp my chocolate starfish 22" sh*tters . I want to stick with the 16" but want a bit more width (my wife tells me its the width that counts). Can you recommend what wheel offset and tyre combo will give that full fat arch look with fouling on the body.

    Cheers.

        Yep,

Nice truck Taz. I like the look of the BFG's but am looking for something that little bit wider. Don't know if the 3rd gen can take any wider than normal 265/70/16's but just canvassing opinions before I splash out on a set of new wheels and rubber and find they don't fit.

Thought about spacers but would just like to get a set of wide wheels and tyres to fit without the need for spacers.

        Scott.

you could probably go to 275/70/16... comes in at 31.16" anything much bigger and your looking at 285/75/16 which is 33x11.50r16, That size would require a lift, Not sure how many inches on a 3rd gen.

mine is running 275/70/16 as std, full lock over a bump and they just kiss the inner wing, only enough to touch the cr@p not do damage,
im going for land cruiser 17's for mine for road use and using the std 16'' alloys with grabber a/w's for offroadin
Surf.gone but not forgottendisco now gone aswell

Sorry for the offtopic... Telaren, where did you get those fender flares off? I cannot send a PM to you nor an email.

As for the topic, 265/75R16's rub a little in the stock height 3rd Gens... The wider the worst!
