  • New Rad

Well finally got round to stripping the truck rad done.
Considered fitting electric fans etc but that was only masking over the real problem of overheating under load.
I got the rad recond.... not a milners new or any other new but a recore on mine.
    Prices were
£160+vat for the standard 3 row core,
£170+vat for a 3 row Xtra (slightly biger core tubes)
£186+vat for a 4 row Xtra (the biggest you can fit in)
They also do an easy clean rad with less fins but the draw back is you lose some cooling efficiancy.
Note this was for a uk spec 4runner 3.0TD so the imports and/or autos may well be different as they have atf coolers etc.

I went for the 4 core Xtra max cooling as i have 4 9" spots restricting some airflow and was also going to fit a winch which would reduce cooling even more.
I got it for £180 for pound notes no vat and no reciept. But i use them through work so if it was faulty he knew id be on to him.
Anyway it is all in and working great. Flushed out, new rad fitted and filled with silkolene pro cool pre mix. (aquired from work)
Now temp guage never gets past 1/3 of the way up even under load, with spots and now a winch. (winch pics and fitting esay to follow)
