Front Shocks 3rd gen

Hi I need some help. How do I replace my front shock absorbers?

I want to replace my front shocks on my 1996 3rd gen (KZN 185).

Can you remove and refit the shocks without using a spring compressor on the spring?

My workshop manual is ambiguous on the subject and has a typo at the crucial point.

I'd recommend using a SPRING COMPRESSOR myself.

Yep, you'll certainly need one, try and get a heavy duty one if you can. I found that the set I've used for years without problem on regular cars, were bending with the strain on compressing the surf springs!
