  • How do I switch from hard to soft suspension?

    Hi.

I have a 96 Surf KZN185. I've read you can change from hard to soft suspension on the Surf. How do I do this? Is there a button somewhere I'm missing?

    Cheers.

    You can't, its a 2nd gen thing.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a hard/soft switch on a 3rd gen, but I'm sure if someone's 3rd gen has the option, they'll post up. (adjustable aftermarket shocks don't count.... )

Definatly no, its an option, I see more having it on the 'facelift' 3rd gens (98ish I think), but still not all.

            mornin all

my 3rd gen has normal/hard setting for suspension, the button is on the centre console below passenger heated seat switch.

Also got folding heated mirrors as well.

Might just be a SSR-G thing

Never seen a Surf with heated and folding mirrors before, thats really useful. Lucky find!

Do you want to sell them?

I also have the hard/soft switch there, now redundant as I have procomp dampers fitted. Got folding mirrors on mine too, altough I don't have the heated mirrors or seats.

Sorry mate, I misread your post, I'd guess the wiring is there, most of the looms have loads of unused plugs hanging around the car.

The only way to find out for sure, is to have a look at you mirror plug, see if the loom has spare wires that the mirrors you have don't use.

There must be a seperate motor to drive the Mirrors?

Yeah, I'd assume you'd need powered mirrors as well as the switch.
