  • Very hard questions regarding a bolt

    Now then.

The bolt on the bottom bracket of the spare wheel swing arm which attaches the swing arm to the vehicle body was missing when I bought it. So I need one. It's a 3rd Gen KZN185.

    Questions are:

    a) what size is the bolt?
    b) is it a nut and bolt job?, in which case I need to remove the rear inner panel to attach the nut. Surely not........................... ..........

Can you answer that, you clever Surf folk?

    Cheers.

I had cause to slacken off the bolts holding my spare wheel carrier the other weekend, to re-align it so it would open properly.

The bolts undid quite easily, then tightened up just as easily, with no suggestion of a loose nut ont he other side, so I suspect that the bolt goes into a captive nut/reinforcing plate on the inside of the panel.
And it's either an 8mm or 10mm bolt, couldn't say how long.

Sorry it's not much help, but it's dark at the mo'
