Name that engine!

Hi all...

im trying to help identify a diesel engine for a guy..its fitted to his Mk2 hilux pickup..but vurtainly not the original (it has a turbo for a start!) looks older in design than the gen 2 2L-TE im used to?....maybe a gen 1??

do any of you guys know it?

I haven't really got a clue, but looking at some of the pipework i'd be prepared to hazard a guess that the engine was normally aspirated and it's an aftermarket/pilfered off another car turbo that's been added by a previous owner.

Could be a 3L that's had the Turbo added.

Can't see any Turbo coolant lines.

Why is the Waste gate Actuator hose connected to the inlet side of Turbo???

Could be a 2L-T (note lack of 'E'). Check the injector pump, see if it's electronic. Or something.....
