Outer CV boots?

Anyone here ever had the misfortune to fit new outer CV boots to their Surf?
Mine are both split all the way round and need doing ASAP.
Not looking forward to it at all!!

yes did mine last year. For a first timer I'd allow about 5 hours per side.

Get the CV boot kits to replace inner & outer from Roughtrax or Milners(you may as well do both inner & outer while you've got the driveaxel off). Follow the intructions in the Haynes or similar 4Runner workshop manual.

It's a messy job as you'll have to clean off all the old joint grease. But new CV joint grease will come with the kit.

Aren't there universal CV boot kits now available?? - I watched a mate fit one to a rover 220 the other week. You don't have to dismantle everything, the boot comes split and you cut it to size then glue it together and attach the straps at ecah end.
