  • Front wheel Hub bolts

Whilst replacing the CV boots I managed to over tighten one of the 6 bolts around the centre hub cover. I snapped the bolt.

    Q. Is it a bolt or a stud? any one got diagram showing them? Do you knowwhat size they are and how to get the broken one out.

    Thanks

Richard thanks, presume it's a stud and be taken out with a stud remover.

If you remove the plate/cover, is there enough of the stud protruding to get stud extractor on it?
If not, then it's a drill the centre of the stud then use an 'easy out' type stud extractor.

                  Hi

I snapped same bolt/stud a couple years ago,
I got a new part from milners or roughtrax

I think someone - probably TonyN! advised me to cut stop in end of the bolt where is snapped - if still protruding ? using angle ginder/saw etc
I then used this with a large screwdriver, or in fact a chisel in the end, with blade in the slot i cut, and chisel had a hex shaped end, that i put socket on, and then I wound the broken stud out

It was TonyN - here is original discussion

                    Top tip!

might give that ago; save buying a stud extractor.

                    Cheers
