Greetings all newbie here,

swapped my Freelander for a Surf - see title for model. No comparison! One thing though need to put stuff like kayaks on the roof...but no runners for putting on a rack. Just a plain ol' smooth roof. Any ideas or do I get the drill out!!

Also any recommendations for oil - still waiting on the good book.

Hi Gerard and welcome to the nuthouse.Do a search for the roof bars as there are some that will fit like the Thule Roof Bars

thx Stormforce - and you have to excuse my ignorance here - but how does that work - does not appar anything to clamp on to..or am I really showing up my Surf virginity by saying that!

you open the doors and they clamp under the door seals

As already stated alot use Thule bars for the 4runner. Others have bought some that have self tapping screws that go into the roof but not the lining
