Cheers, thanks andy, i think it's the same one then, this is what it says about it:
            -------------
Racing Spec Limited Slip Differential Oil - 1 Litre - Item Code: DF497
            - An SAE 90 hypoid gear oil especially formulated to ensure the correct operation of Limited Slip Differentials.

            Ł5.95 (Ł7.00 inc.VAT)
            -------------
I thought it was the right one but being new to doing my own servicing i thought it better to check, than post a thread in a weeks time saying my car doesn't work now what's wrong?

            thanks again

Toyota recommend Castrol LS90 hypoid oil but only sell it in 25 litre drums, you can get it in 5 litre containers from factors but it was quite expensive what I can remember.

I bought Comma Hypoid SAE80W-90 API GL5 for LSD.

Bought from Camberley Auto factors for about Ł20 for 5 litres.

                    hi all

thought i would add here rather than post a new thread......

after having a wheel off on the m1 (long story, painful and expensive!) i had the rear hub rebuilt than the truck fell on and slid.

since then however i keep leaking diff oil. my mech replaced some seals as recommended by milners when the axle was rebuilt but to no avail.

its stopped leaking now... presumably shes running dry. i have another seal from milners to fit - this one is metal and sits in front of the wheel bearing as it was the only one reused last time (on advice that is).

prob is i cant get anyone to have a look at it for 1 - 2 weeks as im a bit in the boonies. can anyone walk me through topping up the oil myself to see me through?

                    thanks guys

btw 4runner runs lovely now on replacement surf engine - thaks god. i still have a block (with screwed gears tho) and a recon rebuilt pressure tested head available from the 1kzt available.

                    cheers

Is this good stuff? I know of some people having real bad experiences on dodgy acid. I thought it was sold by the tab! You are talking in litres.
