    Hi

Just purchased my first Surf, 3.0 td ssr-x, auto.

Im in Warrington and looking for a good service garage that is local - localish, anyone had any good or bad times with any garages in my area?

Its pulling to the left slightly whilst driving, and under braking, i had the alignment checked, it did need doing but the guys at the garage checked it twice and all is fine with that. Could this be a sticky brake caliper as when the car is first started/cold start I just need to feather the brake pedal whilst at a slow crawl to come to a slow stop and it can sometimes stop like i have thrown out the anchor! once warm, this goes away.

    Any ideas?

    Hi and welcome to forum.

It could be a sticky calliper, or warped/worn discs/pads.

May be worth changing the pads and brake flid to be on the safe side.

Steve runs a garage in Stockport and deals with quite a lot of Surfs.

Had a similar prob with my '94 2nd Gen when I first got it. Pulled slightly and juddered a bit under braking, but new brake pads and a good clean of the pistons and the calipers solved it all. One of the pistons was stuck.

Hi , I am on the outskirts of warrington, WA3 Lowton, I always use TLT Garage services on Moss Industrial Estate , off St Helens Road in Leigh . He is not a Toyota specialist but over the years he's serviced all my cars when the manufacturers warranty has expired , I've trusted him with my old beloved M5,and a merc CLK, as well as an old Paj I had and now the surf. He's not the cheapest around but only does things that needs doing, and only charges for what he's done, To give you an idea of price he did a full service and timing belts ( apparently they have 2 ) on my Paj for £250 +Vat. He has full diagonostics, can do MOT's when required and secure clean premises. Have a drive down and see for yourself, his place is opposite the large Sharrats furniture showroom, right at the entrance to moss industrial estate
